Letter to the Postmaster at Jonesport, Maine mailed from Washington, D.C. March 7,1876 admonishing him not to send registered package envelopes outside the United States (specifically Canada). Apparently the Postmaster [exchange office] at Buffalo, N.Y. discovered this era reporting it to the 3rd Assistant Postmaster General. Back side of this letter is blank. Second image is the envelope it was mailed in. |
