Vienna, the capital of Austria, was Liberated from the Germans by the Russian Forces on a campaign that started March 16th, 1945, and went to April 15th, 1945. By April 9th, Vienna's city was occupied by Russian Troops, but “street-fighting” continued for days until April 15th, 1945, and no more German resisting forces remained in the City.
