The U.S. Postage Due Stamps of the 1959 Series

Perf 11 x 10.5 - All denominations except the 11¢, 13¢ and 17¢ stamps were first issued on June 19, 1959.

All of the stamps were issued in both shiny gum varieties and all the stamp except the 1/2, 8, 11, and 13 cent denominations have been found with dull gum. The dull gum stamp varieties bring a slight premium while the 4¢, 6¢, and 7¢ stamps with dull gum commanding a singificant premium.

Denomination omitted errors are known on the 1¢, 3¢, 4¢, 5¢, 6¢, 7¢ and 8¢ stamps. These errors must be collected as a pair with one ordinary stamp with denomination and the other without.

The 11¢, 13¢ and stamps were issued on January 2, 1978 and the 17¢ cent cent was issued on June 10, 1985. All postage due stamps were discontinued in August 1986.
